Falling Skies: "Hatchlings" Review

Well, that’s one way to rekindle an old rivalry. This week’s Falling Skies is certainly filled with a healthy amount of development in both plot and character. Some of it feels like a step in the right direction while some of the bigger moments felt like two steps back. The over-arcing war on the Espheni and the mystery surrounding Tom’s space friends continues to be intriguing, unfortunately the character moments, something this show weighs so heavily on, are taking a turn for the frustrating.

What’s working? We finally get a little more knowledge regarding Tom’s mysterious helpers who have did such a great job imparting information after a crisis had already started last week. Like most of the speculation on the Internet had assumed it turns out that they are the race that the Skitters were created from. It’s something that most viewers had pieced together but it’s still an interesting revelation and could, hopefully, take things in the right direction for the war with the Espheni. Cochese specifically points out that they are an extinct species.
